Glorious Chorus is a highly-acclaimed a-cappella choir from South Devon. Founded and led by International award winning composer/song writer Helen Yeomans, the choir is known for its close harmonies and memorable performances. They offer a rich textured repertoire and they sing gospel, modern classics and original music, all of which has been written or arranged by Helen.
The choir comprises of approximately 35 people of all ages, from a wide range of backgrounds. They are a strong group of singers who have come to together under Helen’s guidance and some perform as soloists at their concerts. Although the choir is made of predominantly amateur singers, they are all trained in vocal technique and performance to achieve polished performances, whilst retaining passion and spontaneity. The popular choir have sung at several highly prestigious events including Glastonbury, Isle of White Jazz Festival and Port Eliot Festival to name a few, and they were finalists at Charles Hazelwood’s inaugural Orchestra in a Field choir competition in 2012.
Glorious Chorus’ leader, Helen Yeomans writes beautiful haunting lyrics to her original scores and she also creates special arrangements for well-known songs for the choir to perform.
Helen won the gospel/faith category with her song ‘Saved’ in the 2015 international song writing competition. The contest attracts over 7,000 entries in total and is one of most prestigious song writing contests in the world.
Helen is in demand internationally as a tutor and choirs across the globe liaise with her regularly asking for advice and to gain permission to present her original music themselves.
