Sheffield Young Singers Sheffield

Now in its 11th year, Sheffield Young Singers has established a reputation as a high quality, dynamic and adventurous youth choir with a refined sound. Many of the singers attended our Junior group Junior group and when they start SYS are ready to embrace the challenges of more complex part singing and breadth of repertoire.  Members are drawn from across the City and attend 9 different secondary schools. There are no auditions and the singers are brought together by their passion for singing.   A strong emphasis is placed on fun and friendship and we are united in our drive to create performances of the highest standard to both move and entertain our audiences. We sing a far-ranging repertoire from Lebanese folk songs and Zulu greeting songs to Mozart and Kodály, taking in musical theatre, pop anthems, folk and film music on the way.  This is the second time Sheffield Young Singers has taken part in the Voices Now Festival at the Roundhouse and we love listening to and meeting different choirs as well as taking part in the exciting range of opportunities the Festival offers.
