Voices Now is now calling for all kinds of choirs to perform on the Making Music stage on 9 and 10 May this year
This time, the choirs are in charge and they’re taking over the festival….
Over the past four years, Voices Now has created one of the most exciting festivals for choirs in the UK. Choirs of all abilities and backgrounds have come together at the Roundhouse in London, one of the UK’s best venues for music, to create festivals that have seen choirs of all kinds celebrate singing together.
In 2011 and 2013, choirs at Voices Now sang to over 10,000 people, with 5,000 singing in the festival, and we want you to be a part of our next chapter. We are now calling for all choirs to apply to perform on the Making Music Open Stage on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2015.
We are looking for a wide variety of styles – classical, barbershop, gospel, R&B, world and much more besides – in short unaccompanied programmes. Whether you’re an open access group or an award-winning chamber choir, we want to hear from you. And it doesn’t matter if not everyone from your choir can make it for the performance.
Performances will take place as 15/30 minute performance slots taking place between 12pm to 10pm on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2015 in the Roundhouse foyers and bars and this year we have opportunities for choirs to do a second performance at the Camden Markets in some of their indoor and outdoor spaces to a wider audience.
Make sure you apply by Thursday 12 February 2015. Successful groups will be notified by Friday 27 February 2015.
